 Most of our learning this term has been based around Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Recently we have been learning about Christmas!

Maths - Subtraction ( take away)  using a range of methods including practical materials and a number line. We also have been practising our mental maths to help with this by counting backwards from 30.

English - We have been writing stories about Goldilocks using the joining word 'and' We have also completed lots of writing about our Computing, History and RE.

We have looked at the story of the Three Snow Bears in guided reading and have been making predictions and answering questions using our knowledge of the Goldilocks traditional tale.

We have been super phonics detectives reading real and alien words.

Science- This term we have thought about the woods Goldilocks visited and looked at seasonal changes and investigating deciduous and evergreen trees.

PSHRE- We have continued work on emotions. We have also thought about friendships including helping Goldilocks to be kind to friends and solve friendship problems. We  learnt how to keep safe during national road  safety week.

PE- We have had a gymnastics theme this term and have focused on travels, balances, rolls and jumps which we are now combining into a simple sequence. This included floor and apparatus work.

RE - We are looking at Christmas celebrations and traditions. We have seen and learnt about Christingles and will learn to retell the Christmas Story.

History - We have explored a range of objects both old and new and are learning lanaguage related to past and present to decide when people may have used them,  and what for.

ICT- We have been using QR codes to retrieve data, we loved finding codes around the school!

Geography-  We have studied and used simple keys on maps, this included making our own maps of woodland areas for Goldilocks to explore.

DT- We have been making sliding mechanisms in  Goldilocks pictures and Christmas cards..... we hope you like them!

Art- we have explored and imitated different illustrations of popular bears from stories such as Rupert, Paddington and Pooh Bear 

Music - we have been listening to music and discussing what it reminds us of and how it makes us feel. We have created pictures from what the music makes us see in our minds.


Children in Need 

The Robins loved wearing mufti for Pudsey Day! We learnt the importance of Children in Need and why we are raising money. The Owls loved creating their own Pudsey hats, using spots to help them recall number bonds to 10 and solve tricky Pudsey subtration number sentences.
