Firstly, let me share how delighted I am to have been appointed as Acting Head for this academic year. It is a privilege and an honour to be leading such a fantastic school, with a wonderful school community, where the children are at the heart of all we do and every decision we make.
All schools have their own special identity and we believe that as a Nursery and Infant School, where early years expertise permeates all that we do, our children are given the very best start to their education. We offer a nurturing, caring and supportive environment which enables the children to learn and develop academically, personally and socially.
At Torpoint Nursery and Infant School our aim is to provide each child with an outstanding education and some unforgettable memories. Our innovative curriculum is underpinned by our ‘Achieve’ curriculum aims;
All children are provided with the very best learning experiences that engage,
motivate, challenge and inspire.
Children develop their love for learning in stimulating and safe environments throughout the school.
Happiness of all is paramount.
Individual needs are recognised and met; an inclusive curriculum for all.
Early Years expertise is used to meet the unique needs of the children from the
ages of 3-7.
Voices of the children are heard and listened to, ensuring that they are at the
heart of everything we do and every decision we make.
Each and every child makes the best possible progress, leading to lifelong academic and personal achievement.
Learning at Torpoint Nursery and Infant School really is a magical experience; with every class having their own magic wand from the magical wood that helps link imagination, motivation and learning.
Exciting Wow Moments are used as a hook for learning and children are then at the heart of the planning process where they share what they already know and ask questions that they wish to find out; a great example of the voice of each and every child being heard. Our highly skilled teachers then use these questions to plan motivating and inspiring learning activities and experiences across all areas of the curriculum. As a result, our school is full of children who are enthused and eager to learn; developing this love and eagerness for learning is such an important attribute for our children to have during the very first stages of their education.
We would love to invite you in to school to showcase all that we do but due to current circumstances we are unable to do this. Instead, we are using our website to share everything we would normally invite parents into school to see including assemblies, special events and parental support and so I hope that you enjoy taking a look at the wonderful things our school has to offer.
