Our school meals are provided by a private company employed through Cornwall Council.

From September 2014 ALL the children in the main school (Reception to Year Two) are entitled to a school meal, free of charge, every day. - there is no need to apply for this.

In the past, the only families entitled to Free School Meals were those who were in receipt of certain benefits. In addition to the children being entitled to Free School Meals, the school also received additional funding to help ensure all children reach their potential.

We use this money to have small classes (on average, just 21 children compared with the national average of 30), to employ Teaching Assistants for all classes and to put in place additional support of children where necessary.

Although parents may feel they no longer need to claim, if you are in receipt of one of the benefits which would have entitled your child to free school meals, we will still be entitled to receive extra funding (Pupil Premium) of £1300 to support teaching and learning across the school. SO, PLEASE, WE DO NEED YOU TO APPLY

Your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium for the school if you are in receipt of any of the following benefits.

• Income Support (IS)
• Job Seekers' Allowance (Income-Based)
• Income Related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA-IR)
• Child Tax Credit (CTC) with an Annual income of less than £16,190.
• Guarantee Element of Pension Credit (GPC)
• Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (IAA) Support

We have attached the form that needs to be completed and an envelope for you to return it, either directly to County Hall or, if you send it to us in a sealed envelope we will send it to them for you.
