A trip around the world while staying at home!

This page is your passport to our new home learning theme.

From the 11th May our new home and school learning theme has taken us  on a trip around the world.

Each week we are looking at a different place.

There are different challenges and activities linked to the chosen place that cover different areas of the curriculum.  This learning can be found on the 'other areas' planning sheets within the weekly planning or you can follow your own interests...

  • Finding the place on a map,  is it a country or a continent. If it is a country which continent is it part of?
  • Using an online tool such as google maps or google earth with your children to visit landmarks with them.
  • Tasting or making traditional food from the pleace
  • Finding out about a famous person from the place, it could be  a scientist, an artist , a composer or a hero!
  • Finding out about some of the wildlife and habitats in the area
  • Learning to say and write hello in the langauge of the country/ one of the countries in the area.

This page will contain the maps and other resources to help you on your journey
