Home Learning- School Planned Routine
THIS WILL NOT BE UPDATED IN THE EASTER HOLIDAY - IF YOU ARE FINDING HOME LEARNING IS HELPING YOU MANAGE YOUR DAYS PLEASE USE OUR OTHER SUPPORT PAGES OVER EASTER
Each family will have a different approach to home learning based on their families own circumstances including the needs of their child.
We have worked hard to provide a solution for each of you during these difficult times.
One theme coming through in all advice from those involved in education at this time is the importance of routine. We have devised a very clear routine based learning structure you could follow.
As we do not know the how long schools will be shut, we will update these plans weekly and upload them every Friday. These plans are taken directly from our Medium Term plans which were created at the beginning of our learning themes. Teachers will deliver the same plans for the few children remaining in school.
We have developed differentiated plans, which are suitable for all children. These plans can be found on our school website. They are broken down into five daily sessions for you to follow with your child/children. We have considered a range of things when planning these sessions to make them appropriate for the age and needs of our children. These sessions are practical and use resources that you are likely to have in your home. We have also worked together as a team to ensure that we have planned for the same areas of the curriculum for all year groups:
- Week 1 (23/3/20)
- Phonics (please ask your children who their teacher is for phonics and then select the appropriate plan)
- Our World
- Art and DT
- Story and reading
Throughout these headings we will ensure that all activities planned cover objectives from all areas of the curriculum.
This allows you as parents to support your children by having a clear focus in each subject. It also means that siblings in different year groups within our school have the opportunity to learn together and from each other using similar resources and approaches. In school, we provide engaging, practical activities as part of their school life and we do not rely on worksheets and therefore we have tried to keep this the same for their home learning.
PS these materials were produced very quickly in order to be able to publish them for you. Please excuse any typing errors.
