Children in Need
The children had a lovely day completing Pudsey Bear themed activities, completing their walking challenges and wearing mufti.
Some children even joined in with part of Joe Wicks' amazing 24 hour exercise challenge.
We also ensured the children had time to focus, in an age approriate way, on the purpose of the day and why we raise money for charities.
Thank you for your kind donations for Children in Need with your help we raised £299.15
Teddy Bears Picnic
A child in Year One entered a competition to come up with the idea for a fundraiser for the Roald Dahl Charity. She had the splendid idea for a Teddy Bears picnic complete with money raising competitions and prizes.
We were so excited by her idea, and because the Roald Dahl charity is so marvellous, we decided that as part of our celebrations of Roald Dahl Day to hold a Teddy Bears Picnic and a series of Teddy Bear related competitions.
We had a razztwizzlr of a day!
The prize winners art was giganticus.
The picnic was delumptious, flavory-savory and lickwishy.
And we raised nearly £80 of gloriumptious money for the charity!

Nursery Outdoor Learning Environment Launch
Ahoy, Me Hearties!
The Pirates have sailed into Torpoint Nursery and Infant School
On Thursday 10th September the pirates (Members of the Royal Marine Band) sailed into Torpoint Nursery and Infant School and landed on our new beach area which has been created as part of the refurbishment of the outdoor learning environment in our Nursery Unit.
The Nursery received a kind donation of a little rowing boat which has been lovingly restored by a Father of a child within our school who is also a member of the Royal Marine Band. So today, the Royal Marine Band commissioned our beautiful boat which has been named HMS Smeaton.
The Royal Marine Band played sea shanties whilst the children steered the boat and the morning was filled with music and merriment!
The beach area will be an opportunity for the children to use imaginary play and it also sits alongside the construction area, a life size small world area, a road with zebra crossing and petrol filling station, a musical area, a mindfulness area and mud kitchen.
“It has been wonderful to watch the transformation of our outdoor learning area in our Nursery Unit. We have been overwhelmed by the kindness of the community of Torpoint who have donated items such as the rowing boat, paint, wood and even a kitchen sink! The children are enthusiastically learning through play and we, as staff, are amazed by what they are achieving on a daily basis. I am extremely grateful to members of the Royal Marine Band for commissioning HMS Smeaton today and for the fun and laughter they brought to the children.”

THANK YOU
We would like to say a massive thank you to all the families and friends who sponsored our Nursery children to raise money for the surprise addition to their outdoor learning area.
You absolutely smashed our target of £275 and raised £1051 . This generous amount of money will enable not just the purchase and refubishment of the 'secret' item, but will also allow even more improvements to the space.
Watch out for details of the improvements over the coming months.
THANK YOU !
