Aims into Practice - March 2017

Skipathon

All the children took part in the "Jump Rope for Heart" Skipathon on Monday 27th March.

This event had three very positive benefits;

- imroving the children's skipping skills

- teaching them about healthy hearts and the role of exercise in keeping our hearts healthy

-the money raised will support the British Heart Foundation.

St Piran's Day

The children found out about St Piran's Day in their classroom including thinking about why Cornwall is so special.

They enjoyed a special Cornish treat and had pasties for lunch

World Book Day

Yet again we took part in this amazing opportunity to celebrate books and reading.

Put a Nose on it!

We danced, danced, danced for Comic Relief having great fun and raising £117.

Town Crier

The year two children at Torpoint Nursery and Infant School were paid a visit this Friday by local Town Crier, Clive O'Shaughnessy.

Sporting his full regalia he told them about the history and origins of Town Crying and gave them chance to try out 'town crying' for themselves.

Clive visited  the school in preparation for the Junior Town Crier Competition which is being held locally and will be judged at this year's Black Prince Parade held on the Rame Peninsula on May 1.

Headteacher Elisabeth Carney-Haworth said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the Year 2 children to learn and take part in Town Crying.

"We are very excited to welcome Clive O'Shaughnessy into our school in his full Town Crier regalia."
