Winter Sports Week 8th - 12th February
Every day we have different challenges from different teachers and other familiar faces for your children to partake in! It is a competition so every challenge has a point system that you can add up throughout the week ready to email the total to your child’s class teacher by 12pm Friday (12.2.21) so that they can work out their class winner. A certificate will then be awarded to our Super Sports Stars!
Monday’s challenges are set by our Year Two class teachers and are mainly focussed on gymnastics.
2 point balance challenge, 1 point balance challenge, Crab walk challenge , Long jump (although not gymnastics you will be using what we learnt in gymnastics last term to land your jump by bending your knees)
Tuesday’s challenges are set by our Reception class teachers and are focused on ball skills.
How many times can you pass the ball/toilet roll around your waist in 60 seconds?, How many times can you throw and catch a ball/toilet roll without dropping it?, How long can you balance a ball/toilet roll on your foot for?, How many keepy-uppies can you do with a ball/toilet roll?
Wednesday’s challenges are from Mr Evans, Head of PE at Torpoint Community College, and the A Level PE students.
5,6,7,8 - Zumba video , Reach for the Stars- Zumba video, Speed Bounce with Mr Evans
Thursday’s challenges are set by our Year One teachers and are circuits based.
Star jumps, Rocket jumps, Spotty dogs, Press-ups
Friday’s challenge is a little different... but definitely lots of fun!!! Watch the balloon volleyball video on the website and see who you can spot! Then we hope you have lots of fun with your own volleyball inspired game.
Please remember to email your child’s total score into their class teacher by 12pm on Friday so that we can work out the class winners and our CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS!!!
