Lockdown Learning

This section of the website contains our home learning provision which was in place until schools reopened to all children.

The Government stipulated that all children who are not in school should be able to access learning at home. We understand that this can be a real challenge for children of this age as it can be tricky to have them seated in front of a computer listening to their teacher …whilst remaining focused! With this in mind, we provided accessible activites for children to complete; most with accompanying videos to support with the delivery of learning at home.

Every weekend the home learning for the week was uploaded onto the school website, via this ‘Lockdown Learning’ menu.   On Monday parents  also received an email which outlined the weekly learning activities for their child to complete.

The whole school theme was books that have been written by the author Julia Donaldson and each week we focused on a different story. The learning activities were differentiated for each year group but the books were the same in the hope that this made things a little easier.

We are aware that each child is at a different stage in their learning so to ensure that they could access the learning that is at the right level for them, some of the videos had different colours / groups for the different levels of challenge. Each child’s teacher made regular contact with parents to tell them the correct colour / group that they should follow, and also give individual advice and support.

We asked that parents photographed your child’s learning and send in to the following email addresses(dependent on their year group). Teachers then provided feedback in response to the learning that had been shared.

Reception- reception@torpoint-inf.cornwall.sch.uk

Year One- year1@torpoint-inf.cornwall.sch.uk

Year Two – year2@torpoint-inf.cornwall.sch.uk

All  previous learning was accessible .
