On the Friday nearest to Armistice Day we hold our own Remembrance Service in our school for all our children from Reception to Year Two and representatives from our nursery. The ceremony includes poetry and songs that encourage reflection together with key features from Remembrance Services including a two minute silence and the laying of wreaths. The wreaths are made from poppies which are created by the children.
We invite special guests from the local community and also our Armed Forces Families .
17 children from our Forces Friends Group represented the school at the Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service in Torpoint. We were also pleased to see members of our school parading with their out of school clubs and organisations.
As a school we are proud to be a part of the event and take our part in remembering and saying thank you to those who have died for , served or currently serve our country.
Our Year Two children from school council represented the school at the Torpoint Ceremony to mark Armistice Day . The school’s MKC Standard was also taken to the event at Sparrow Park at which two minute silence was observed and there was wreath laying by the Mayor and the Royal British Legion.
Thank you to Andy Campfield for the additional photographs
